Counseling and Support
"Cancer" can be a frightening word. A cancer diagnosis brings with it many questions and, often, a certain amount of stress. Each patient and family copes in their own ways, but many find it helpful to visit with a counselor when questions or problems arise. If you or a member of your family would like to talk with a counselor, please ask the nurse at the Big Horn Basin Cancer Center about a referral to the social worker. Your regular medical oncologist (cancer doctor ) can also refer you, so don't hesitate to bring up the subject either at the Cancer Center or in your doctor's office.

Support Groups

If you’d like to visit a support group but are feeling shy or uncertain, remember, you can always come and just listen. Please inquire with the BHBROC staff regarding the Cody Support Group. Also, a group is conducted in Powell at the Powell Hospital on the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. For more information, call (307) 754-2267, ext. 150.
